Aug 28th, 2017

Hello Everyone!
Transfer calls came in!! I AM STAYING IN LEMOORE, AND TRAINING A NEWBIE FROM THE MTC! I am super excited. We got a call from President Mackay yesterday, and we asked me to accept that assignment. I was pumped! We get to go to the temple to prepare for it too! The next few days I will be with all the trainers and we learn how to be an effective trainer and we are coming back to work Lemoore until they come in on Thursday. Transfer hub is tomorrow though, and Sister Jeffrey is going to Kerman! I was like I loved it there! ALSO 11 MONTHS TODAY!!! TIME FLIES!
We got to go pick grapes in the vineyard this week! It was SO much fun. We got super dirty and sweaty but it felt so good to know we could help others all over the world. How lucky that we are in this mission able to go and do that service with others. We had a great week, as far as finding and helping to build Lemoore. We have been working a ton out in Riverdale.

I have been reading a conference talk a day to start preparing for General Conference in October. I am super excited for that too. Just super happy, in case I haven't hinted at that. Anyways, I was reading a talk from President Nelson, how he read all 57 sections in the Topical Guide about Jesus Christ in the Standard Works.  He talks about how doing that changed his life and his testimony. I have taken that challenge upon myself to start reading them. I often ask people, Where there relationship is with God. I think to myself "How can we follow somebody we do not know?" As we come to KNOW who God and Jesus Christ how, we are bound to learn how to become more like them. I love that.  There is so much to learn and we are constantly progressing. Through personal revelation we know how to better ourselves and share that with others. One word I love focusing on and our mission president, is "STRIVE" when we are striving we will grow. We are promised eternal life if we will but do our best. I love the story, when Christ is found teaching in the temple, in Luke 15 and when he remind Mary and Joseph, " wist me not that I be all about my fathers business?"
He does all things because he remembers who he is and what he was sent here to do. I love the scripture in John 8:28-29
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
People often ask us, why would we do this? Don't we miss our family?
One answer I give. I serve because I love Jesus Christ.

I love you all have a great week!

Hi Everyone!,
This is the last week of the transfer! Ahh! The time on a mission just seems to fly by. Next transfer I hit my year mark! That is crazy! We will see what happens.
I had an amazing birthday and I have loved growing in missionary work with the members in Lemoore! Hermana Jeffrey surprised me with tons of balloons everywhere and a present, it was a super good day! I had a few surprise visits from members bringing cake and balloons! It was super fun and I felt so loved! Thanks to everyone for the letters and gifts! You all are the best!
This week was filled with service! We helped Denise move out! It was super stressful because we definitely saw the adversary trying to stop her from leaving. Her husband left at 2am to get back earlier from work and we went at 8am and we had 2 hours before he got home! We called all the Elders from Selma the night before though and they had all came out to help us! We had our Zone Leaders and District Leaders there to help! It was quite a success! We managed her whole trailer home in an hour and 20 minutes! It was intense but she is safe and sound in Selma and we handed her off to the Zone Leaders. She has all her lessons though and is heading toward baptism for the 9th of September! WAHOO!
We also helped a member with caulking their house! YES! I did it! It was super fun and we got to go and touch up the baseboards. We were pretty proud of ourselves. We also volunteered at the Christian Aid again, and we got to deliver clothes to some members in need. It felt so good and I just felt like we were doing what Christ would do if he were here. "We are not just called to serve in a a place, but IN PLACE of the Savior." So true!
Our District is headed out to play volleyball soon! One last thing I want to share, Our mission president invited us to ask our bishop for a blessing to help us to improve the area, and because he holds those keys to exercise his power of the priesthood. It was an amazing and life changing experience. All four of us sister missionaries texted him and met at the church with the Ward Mission Leader. They were shocked, because it was the first time missionaries had asked, it was the first time we thought to do that too haha. However, we did it and all of ours were super different. It was so comforting though and I received immediate counsel and I felt the love of God more than ever on my mission. We all go through different challenges, but it is those who look forward and move on that find joy. We can find joy through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love this gospel!

Love you all!

P.S. The Eclipse was super cool too!
Birthday dinner was bomb too!

Hi Everyone!,
How was everyone's week? We helped a lot of people move out this week. We had two of our favorite families leave us! They are military but it was still so sad! We were just loading up boxes and taking them out to the Uhaul. The good thing though is building those relationships and I am super happy to know many of the members here in Lemoore. Things are getting better with Hermana Jeffrey we have a few appointments this week and we are excited to just get back out to work!
We had exchanges this week, and I loved it! We were able to go out and we finally saw Denise! We found out some crazy news! SHE IS MOVING OUT! She was in a rough situation with her boyfriend and she finally decided to move out so she could progress towards baptism! I am super excited for her! She is moving out by Selma which is closer to Fresno, but I am still super excited for her. Especially cause we had to let her go for a little bit and we felt we needed to go back a few weeks ago and she has been coming to church and has a great testimony!

We also had Zone Conference this week too where we talked a lot on member trust. We simply need to build trust with members and that will get them motivated to work with us. We have been studying family files and getting to know everyone and their kids. We love it because the ward really has reached out and been helping us more than ever. The leaders are so inspired!
Another thing was the push for the Book of Mormon. We have been using that so much in our teaching and I love it! I have loved getting to know the people in it! It is a book of power and another witness of Jesus Christ. Something I have focused a lot on is the parable of the Prodigal Son and the story Of Lots wife. They both taught me so much, they were talks by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. The Prodigal Son (Luke 15) Because it taught me about a Fathers love for his children. No matter how his sons had used their money he welcomed them home. He showed "compassion" and that is all Heavenly Father does for us, is he wants us to come home but we have to reach out and take his hand. Then for Lots Wife, how it wasn't just that she looked back but that she yearned to go back. She did not trust that what was ahead was something better. That just related to me so much and how we have to get up and keep moving forward. One of our less actives we have been working with passed away and that just all hit me that the strength comes in pressing forward. Enduring is never easy and it was never easy for the Savior. I know in order to understand his will for us we have to walk some what of a life like the Savior did.

Totally loved all the birthday wishes and letters! Thanks so much! I love the support from family and friends and I can not wait to be 20! We have a few dinners with members this week to celebrate it and I am super grateful!

Love you all have a great week!

Hi Everyone!,
How is everyone doing? I am emailing from my mission president's laptop and it is super high techy. Haha anyways, Sean and Marie got confirmed yesterday! President Mackay, taught her and interviewed her so she talked about his effect on her and it was awesome. Yesterday was our fast and testimony meeting, Marie leaned over to me, and said I am going to bear my testimony! I was like wow! Go on! She did an amazing job and the spirit was so strong. I love hearing the fresh testimonies and conversion stories.

Tomorrow we have Zone Conference! The first one with President Mackay! We hear there will be further changes. We are super excited though. We have another busy week lined up with lots of service. We came to Fresno today to meet with President and he has been so helpful. Sister Jeffrey has been really struggling with some internal conflicts and her diabetes levels have been all off. We have been inside a couple days now, and we are figuring out how to help her and support. It has been a little crazy and scary but we are doing good in general. Since we are in Fresno, we called up Sister Jones, my last companion and we are headed to the mall. We are excited because we both know her so well. This is her last transfer too! I am super sad for that.

One thing I would love to share, I have learned a lot through personal studies lately, I have been focusing on trusting in the Lord. We received priesthood blessings and I focused on that phrase in my blessing. I studied it out and here are some references. Psalms 34:22, 2 Nephi 29:20, 2 Nephi 22:2, and 2 Nephi 4 :19-21, 34-35

I invite you all to read at least one of those scriptures. I know that if we put our trust in the Lord he will not fail us. I have learned to put it all at his feet and he will lift us. Christ suffered so that we do not have to. We are not alone.

Have a great week!,

Jul 31st, 2017

Hi Everyone!,
It was such a crazy week for us getting this baptism worked out. By the time Sunday came around we were so glad to finally have it all worked out and for them to feel ready. Sean and Marie were so fun to teach and I am so glad we can continue to work with them. President Mackay and his wife, came out with us on Friday to teach them with us and it went super well! We talked about the Atonement and how the gospel brings us joy! I loved it and she was like I am so ready! We even had our Stake President, President Anderson show up to our baptism! It all turned out well in the end. The Zone Leaders called us and were like Sisters give us advice. We were like focus on loving others! It is not about numbers it is about bringing back our family! Even though, Sean was super afraid of the water he finally did it but we had to talk him into it!

Sean and Marie's Baptism!

We got to celebrate Pioneer Day at the church and it was so much fun they had tons of carnival games and moon bounces.

Sean and Marie's Baptism!

We got to help out with one of the games and it was a good way to get to know everyone in the Hanford Stake! We had President Interviews this week too and it was way different than how President Clark did it. I really liked it though, we got to talk to him and his wife, and they talked a lot about how our focus should be building trust. We have loved our jam sessions in the car to EFY music. I realize how much good music can change you mood so quickly. It brings you up and uplifts your day. We went to Stratford which is apparently super ghetto and we brought a Return Sister Missionary, and she is like no worries we have Sister Pachner. haha I was like I am running!
It was a great, crazy, and stress filled week! However, super rewarding and I am ready for AUGUST! WAHOO! Almost forgot I am almost 20 and getting close to hitting my year mark! We are off to go Bowling as a district! SO EXCITED!

LETS GO FORTH AND FIND THIS WEEK!
Love you all!

Jul 24th, 2017

Hi Everyone!,
How is everything going? We had such a crazy kind of stressful week! All is well though we are figuring things out. Marie and Sean will actually be getting baptized on the 30th! She had a little bit of doctrinal confusion but she is set! She is super ready and we are so excited for this weekend! Getting everything ready for the baptism has been super difficult, everyone is out of town! Summer really does keep everyone busy!
Sister Jeffrey is so much fun! We had a great week. Definitely going to miss Sister Malpica! Transfer hubs was a little sad! But we are out looking for some new investigators and we work so well together. It helped we served around each other when I was in Lindsay and she was in Porterville. Tons of exchanges helped and we have a lot of laughs. I have been blessed with the best! We did tons of service this week! We do it at a Christian Aid center and we help the homeless and those in need get clothes and food. I love it! It always helps our week go better. This weekend is the Pioneer Day Celebration! We get to help out with that in the booths and they are having a 5k run! Our Mission President is allowing EFY music and Vocal Point now along with Mormon Tabernacle and we are having so much fun with that!
We have interviews with President again soon! He is amazing he came down to Lemoore to help us get some baptismal stuff figured out and he was like Sisters, I want to come teaching with you! I was like YES! He has time it is awesome.
Sister Jeffrey and I are on a health kick trying to lose some mission fat! We ate so bad this week mainly with members but we are motivated and excited to get active. I feel like we will have so much more energy and a drive. We can do it!
On another note, it was super cool during studies we were reading in Mosiah 18:30 .. Notice 1830 is the year the church was restored. It talks about the Waters of Mormon , hence where Mormon got his name for the Book of Mormon. It was super cool because it said, it is a place where they came to know their redeemer. What better place than turning to the scriptures and literal words of the prophets!? Anyway just a cool thought! Have a great week!
Love you all,
Hermana Pachner

1.) Said goodbye to Sister Maxwell! She went home( my trainer)

 2.) Goodbye to Sister Malpica

3.) Sister Jeffreyyy!

Sean, getting baptized soon!

Jul 17th, 2017

Hi Everyonee!,
How was everyone's week? We had such a good one! Ahhh I love being out here on a mission, it is truly the hardest thing I have ever loved doing! Tj was able to be baptized! He is the only member in his family! None of his family came, but he had the support of the church and that was amazing! I love how the gospel truly brings us all together.

We got transfer calls!!!! They came Saturday super late and we both have not slept very well the past few nights because of them. However I AM STAYING HERE! Sister Jeffrey is going to be my new companion and I went on exchanges with her to Porterville and I know her pretty well. She is super fun and I am super excited to work with her here. Sister Malpica is going to Los Banos, which is almost the furthest North of the mission. She had been here for 4 transfers and was excited for some change but we had such a good transfer together! We shared a bunch of laughs and had much success! I will definitely miss her!

GREAT NEWS!, We have Sean and his mom being baptized this weekend! Sister Malpica will get to come back for it and I am super excited! We have such a busy week preparing for it though! They both have to get interviewed differently and with transfers it will just be crazy! I was a little over whelmed the other day leading an area, preparing for a baptism, and teaching/ maintaining recent converts. However, I have really turned to the Lord and received the strength! Super pumped for another six weeks here! We are helping the members become motivated for missionary work. There has been tons of test runs but we have been able to help each other and come together as a ward.
I was studying the importance of the Book Of Mormon this week, and how it is the keystone of our religion. I was like it is the keystone but how? and why? Well three things, it is the keystone to our witness of Christ, to our doctrines, and to our testimonies. The word testament, literally means covenant in Greek. The Book of Mormon is our literal promise to the Lord that we will follow the teachings found in it. It stands not only for who we are but who we can become through it if we read it. We have to act, there is always time. Often people tell us, "I didn't have time to read it," EVEN members. There is ALWAYS time for the things that matter most, the real question is where our priorities lie. It has been so great for me to apply these teachings and I love learning so much!

Love You all!,
Hermana Pachner
We got our 7/11 FREE SLURPIES! That was so fun and here are some pictures from the baptism of Tj Tejeda!

Jul 10th, 2017

Hi Everyone!,
How was your week!? We had another great one! We have seen so many blessings this past week. We had one of investigators, Denise and her kids showed up and her husband doesn't approve of us or other religions. She has so much trust in the Lord though and came anyways. She loved it! We are so excited to keep working with her. We also have a baptism this weekend!
Tj, is getting BAPTIZED on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are soo excited for him and hope this time the font doesn't give us issues. He is super ready and loved going with us to baptism in Hanford last week.

Our new mission President is awesome! He is super fun and was a Stake President over the YSA in Utah. They relate to us very well and they changed one of the biggest things in our mission. Our mission has always focused on EXACT OBEDIENCE. However, he gave a training about how we are losing focus of the pearl , the most important thing Jesus Christ. We serve because we love Jesus Christ. I know that to be so true. I am not here for anyone or anything else than to serve the Savior as a disciple of Jesus Christ. I serve because I was asked to of him and to me that is enough. He changed our rules on exercising like the running, 10 min aerobics and two minute planks. He told us the white handbook says 30 and we can do with that time as we please. He even is allowing workout videos. We all just got quiet and the next day Hermana Malpica and I didn't even know what to do with out time haha. It was crazy but I loved how we are shifting our focus to the things that matter most.

Our 4th of July was very simple. We had to have our cars parked by 6pm. We went to the other sister missionaries the english ones in Lemoore and had a sleepover. It was fun we made cinnamon rolls and sat on their balcony and watched the fireworks. We were going to go to the NAS Base, but their show didn't start until 9:30.

I love you all! I hope you all had a great week! Thanks so much for the letters and emails of love! Love,
Hermana Pachner
I got to see Sister Jones this week though!

Jul 03rd, 2017

Hi Everyone!,
I hope everyone had an awesome week! We had such a busy week. We had our final Zone Conference with President and Sister Clark. It was such a bitter sweet meeting! They gave their final trainings and encouraged us to always be worthy to hold a temple recommend. They said if we did and attended as often as possible we would have a life full of Joy. They then took pictures with each of us and gave out their autographs haha.

We got to go to the Temple with my last zone the Porterville Zone and I loved it! The temple is truly amazing. It is a place of peace and pure love!

We have all been anticipating the new mission presidents arrival though! Funny story... story of The Adventures of Hermana's Malpica and Pachner. Okay so, we had a MIRACLE BAPTISM!

Here is how it went preparing for it though... So here we were innocent missionaries getting to the Hanford Stake Building an hour early to turn on the font and set up the chairs and programs. We get there and open the doors to the font and two cockroaches, okay not a big deal we kill them. Then we go to turn on the water and 10 MORE come out and at this point they are running up and all around the font. We call the Hanford Elders, (our District Leader) and ask them what to do to kill them. They are in Selma and start laughing saying to bleach them and they will come as soon as possible. It is a church building, they do NOT have bleach haha! We had to use like a 409 and we kept killing them. Then we turn back on the water and 10 MORE come up. At this point we have exceeded counted 25 cockroaches and they are getting bigger by the second! We started screaming at this point, the font had chemicals all in it and it was 6:30! Our baptism was at 7! Wesley then shows up (the one getting baptized) with his family and asks for us to open the doors. I start freaking out because the water hasn't even been started and we were waiting for them all to die in these chemicals. So I run and say, "Uh Wesley we have a surprise for you and you have to wait there!" then I ran back in and shut the font doors. Then he was able to come in.. Lets see once they die we quick plug the font and turn on the water. This point the font is SUPER bubbly, we drained it then did it again, about 3 times. Finally it is 7 and we JUST turned on the water at 7 though. We barely had any water good thing he is small and the water had bubbles but he liked it. Haha. BUT Guess who walks in!??? When there are 3 other baptisms that night all around the southern zones?? PRESIDENT MACKAY AND HIS WIFE!

Hahaha at this point we were both sweaty and tired. Also Sister Malpica had no time to prepare her talk on the Spirit so stressed! He smiles and we meet him and it all turned out in the end. Our Mission President is a Night and Day difference from the last. He is so much more layed back and has 4 girls around our ages. They are pretty young and super funny. I am SOO excited to serve under their direction! We get to formally meet them this next Wednesday! WAHOO!

Anyways, such a good week! We are so happy. We have some more investigators really progressing towards baptism as well. We have another on the 15th for TJ! We are so excited. Love you all and thanks so much for all you do! Have a great week!

Love you all!
Hermana Pachner
